Case Study
Following a theft of copper cables from a printing services factory which forced them to cease trading temporarily, DJR Associates worked on a business interruption claim on their behalf.
Whilst the assessment of the material damage was straightforward, the assessment of the loss to the business was less so, partly due to the fact the company was in its first year of trading and so did not possess figures to support trading from a similar previous period.
Following an initial £10k offer from the insurance company, we provided evidence of the lost revenue due to the time critical nature of their business as well as an analysis of the loss of future custom from clients that were turned away over this period of time. After an interim offer of £60k, which we also recommended that our client did not accept, the loss adjustor settled the case for £106k much to our clients delight.
